My name is Kyle Gross and I am a silversmith here in Austin Texas. I grew up in Texas and moved to this area in 1989 to attend college in San Marcos at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University.) I graduated in 1994 with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree with a major in Photography. I had several different jobs in the photography field including photographer’s assistant, photographer, optical photo technician, and digital photo technician. Beginning around 1997 I began to design beaded jewelry for my friends and started Stones Throw Studio in 2002. Since then I have studied jewelry design at Austin Community College, as well as learned much in my dayjob as a jewelry repair bench jeweler. I feel that I have only just begun my journey and look forward to meeting new artists and making new friends at shows and continuing my growth as a jewelry artist.
